Prunus serrulata is a small deciduous tree with a short single trunk, with a dense crown reaching a height of 7.9-11.9 meters (26-39 ft). The smooth bark is chestnut-brown, with prominent horizontal lenticels. To avoid mold on the soil, briefly ventilate the pot every 3 days. Germination is about 4 - 10 weeks. Avoid full exposure to the sun (in the summer) during the first 6 weeks after sprouting.
