About the Cube Cross RaceThe Cross Race's aluminium frame is a breed apart. Designed to be both light and tough, we added 12mm thru axles front and rear to ensure that stiffness and steering precision are on the money for race-winning control. A full carbon fork helps filter out high-frequency buzz and vibration, helping you to concentrate to the end of the race. And internal cable routing ensures that your gear shifts remain clean and precise from start to finish, no matter how filthy the conditions.Key FeaturesCUBE's Aluminium Superlite starts with heat-treated 6061 aluminium, which has the qualities – high fatigue resistance, good stiffness, low weight and excellent strength – that are important for a bicycle frame. Then we make it into double butted tubes, to reduce weight without sacrificing any of its strength. The result? Exceptionally light, strong and tough frames.Advanced Mechanical Forming is a way of manipulating tube shapes to better fulfil their function as part of a frame. Varying cross-sections and external dimensions helps create a smoother look for a frame, but it's also a great way to increase the strength, stiffness and durability of a frame without increasing weight.Smooth Welding isn't easy, but worthwhile things usually aren't. It has two advantages. First, and most obviously, it looks great: one tube seems to almost flow into the other. Second, and at least as importantly, it helps to minimise load peaks on welded areas for better frame strength and durability.Cables connect your handlebar controls to vital components like gears and brakes, but there's no need for them to get in your way.
