This textbook, the second in a series of four, was written for the aviation maintenance technician (AMT) student of today. It covers aircraft structural and systems material that an AMT needs to know. The topics it covers are metallic structures; nonmetallic structures; flight controls and rigging; airframe inspection; landing gear systems; and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Avotek developed this series of textbooks through careful study and gathering of information from the Federal Aviation Administration, the Blue Ribbon Panel, the Joint Task Analysis report, industry involvement, and AMT schools nationwide. The book includes detailed descriptions, illustrations, and photographs to support both current and future requirements for a course of study in aviation maintenance technology. The FAAs new Aviation Mechanic Airman Certification Standards (ACS) have been the driving force in both the scope and the organization of this series.
