Due to upcoming changes in Etsy’s payment system, this shop, which uses a stand-alone PayPal system, is no longer able to continue operating under the current setup.
When I opened this shop in 2013, PayPal was the only available payment method on Etsy in Japan. At the time, stricter banking regulations in Japan made it difficult to connect my Japanese bank account.
Recently, Etsy has partnered with the online bank Payoneer as a new payment option. However, due to an unexpected issue in my shop settings, I was unable to connect my shop to Payoneer.
It’s been a bittersweet and emotional decision to close this shop, which I’ve run for 11 years and filled with countless warm messages and reviews. But I’m moving forward with a hopeful heart and preparing for a fresh start.
