Grown organically, no pesticides, and harvested and processed by hand here on the farm, these black walnuts are called “black gold” for their rich deep flavor. These are wild foraged walnuts. They are one of the few nuts that are still only harvested in nature and boast the highest protein of any nut. Great for baking, on ice cream, or just eating!
These walnuts have been hand washed and dried. They were checked in water to make sure they “sink.” This means that there should be nut meat inside. There can still be a slight residue of the husk on the nut shell. Black Walnuts are generally smaller than English Walnuts but pack a big flavor.
They cannot be opened with a nutcracker. You will need to use a vice or hammer.
