It is very labor-intensive to harvest the grass jelly seeds, in order to keep our pricing as affordable as possible, we decide to ship 50 seed pods (see pictures 2-5, every seedpod contains 2-3 tiny seeds that are circled in red as picture 3). The actual seeds are very tiny, almost look like dust. The seeds are germinating and growing nicely in Northern California. With that said, no guarantee they will germinate or grow nicely for everybody. The seeds are rare and hard to come by. They are harvested and package under a magnifier.
Grass jelly, or leaf jelly, is a jelly-like dessert eaten in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. For some reason, it is so hard to grow grass jelly in North America. We have been trying to grow grass jelly for years. The Taiwan grass jelly seeds were freshly harvested from my parents' grass jelly patch in Taiwan. We were able to germinate a whole bunch in June, the video was taken from The Clayton Farm. There are tons of grass jelly seedlings, so if you can't germinate the seeds, it's not the seeds, it's the grower. From our past experience, the grass jelly seedlings grow very very slow. After a half year, only grow to 4" tall. If you are a determined grass jelly grower like a few of us, you are more than welcome to give it a shot. I have sold a couple of Taiwan grass jelly seeds to few adventurous grass jelly growers, they were able to germinate them, but not sure if they are able to keep them alive. We really don't want to sell the saved Taiwan grass jelly seeds, but if you are determined to grow some, here it is.

Seed germination is controlled by environmental factors such as light, moisture, temperature, and time of seed sowing as well as by genetic factors. Sometimes grower's patience plays a role in it. The same is the grower's diligence to fight with the garden critters. Start plants from seeds are not suitable for everyone, please consider all these factors before placing your order.
