An Almost, Almost Famous Pair of 1960s Boots! **These Boots are going through a 3rd cleaning. It MAY take 2 to 3 weeks to complete. If you are interested in purchasing these Boots, PLEASE let me know before you purchase if you need for a specific event on a specific date. Then I can speak to my Shoe Cobbler to see if we can meet that time frame our not. THANK YOU!! ✦ ✦ ✦✦ ✦ Size 7 M / EU 37 - 38 / UK 5 ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✂ THE BOOT A Bohemian Treasure....with beautiful workmanship and embroidery...they just don't make them like they used to that's for sure. Squared Toe, Chunky Heel, Ivory-colored heavy Canvas (like "military tent" canvas!), and Faux Leather, these Vegan Boots are simply amazing. Definitely a Victorian Feel, including a bit of a Spats look! Hook / Laced closure, all the way up the Boot--there are no Zippers, these are the original style of 60s boot! Brass-toned Hooks and trim for theTextured Ivory Laces. These embroidered boots are A-L-Wa-Y-S hard to find. I love the Ivory color as it feels very Hippie'ish, very Victorian. I think the bright White tends to feel more like a Go Go Boot. The colors in the gorgeous embroidery work include Pinks, Rose, Sky & Turquoise Blues, Yellows and Sea Greens. ✂ CONDITION Overall, these Boots are in Excellent Vintage condition, although not without flaws. This light color is extremely hard to get clean. These are 55 years old, and in many ways, look bright and fresh, after a full restoration by our favorite Professional Cobbler, Aleksandr. However they do still have some very faint spotting throughout--more on that in a bit! The Restoration process includes replacement of the outer soles with forefront tread and new heel caps. Replaced 2 missing lacing hooks. New Laces. Replaced Insoles. The back of each boot, at the top-of-the-heel level, was split along the seams-so Aleksandr repaired, re-stitched and reinforced the seams. This means that it's repaired for the moment AND it will not be a problem in the future. A few very minor issues remain after restoration: there are some very tiny, horizontal "splices" on the full length "tongue" of each boot. It is not cause for concern, and stitching these spots would likely cause some discomfort to the wearer as the tongue would no longer be smooth. In addition, at one point in time someone unfortunately "stitched" the tongues to the sides of the canvas upper at 2 or 3 spots up and down the tongue. But these stitches had to be removed--because the tongues need to be flexible in order to lay flat against the calf. The correction we made means there are now some pin-holes in the tongues where the stitches were carefully removed, one-by-one. About the Spotting mentioned earlier: The Boots are currently going though a 3rd professional cleaning to try to fully eradicate some very tiny, very light, faint spotting on the upper parts of the boot, as well as what appear to be glue-type spots on the "shoe" part of the boot. This issue can be seen in Listing Photo #5--HOWEVER, this photo over-emphasizes the appearance--they DO NOT look nearly as noticeable in real light. I set-up the camera just right so it would capture them, using a high contrast setting, as they are very difficult to see. But I am all about full-disclosure of anything I find or notice, no matter how tiny or insignificant! This is a very tedious, expensive process, as the beautifully embroidery work needs to be protected while cleaning the Ivory Canvas inch by inch. But these Boots are an irreplaceable representation of the 1960s--an important piece of Fashion Art and History--and it's important to restore them. Of course, a protectant will be applied once final cleaning is complete. ✂ LABELS & SIZING "No Maker's Mark" / Vintage Size 7.5 B, but are running short. Will work best for a regular width or narrow foot. ***WILL FIT A MODERN SIZE 7 M*** For International / Size EU 37-38 / UK 5 Length Outsole: 9.75" / 25 cm Width: 3" / 8 cm Heel Height: 2" / 5 cm Calf Height: 13.5" / 34 cm (measured from top of heel to top of boot) Calf Circumference: up to 12.5" / 32 cm (laced) ✂ ABOUT THE FASHION LABEL While these Boots have no Maker's Mark, I have had / have many pairs of boots from the Greek shoemaker Demetrios Sevastakis, and these are identical. So while I cannot credit them officially, as a long time Collector and historian, I can certainly give my opinion about their origin. These Boots have the fabulous Edouard Jerrold / D. Sevastakis-like Floral Embroidery. This is the same studio and set of Artisans that made shoes & boots for Jerry Miller under the Edouard Jerrold line, and the Enosis line among others. These Artisans had a distinctive style with their embroidery--the vines and flowers, the fauna of the Mediterranean. ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ FIND MORE VINTAGE SHOES~PURSES~ACCESSORIES HERE → http://etsy.me/1FmNeQb FIND THE SHOP HOME PAGE HERE → http://etsy.me/1Dq2nCY FIND SHIPPING and SHOP POLICIES HERE → http://etsy.me/1xDyZpS By making a purchase from Moxie2RunwayVintage, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to all stated policies. **Thank you!**
