**STORAGE & APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS**
Keep the image in a sealed, airtight bag until ready to use. Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Avoid refrigeration or freezing before application. The icing sheet lasts up to a year.
If your package was left in the cold during winter, let it reach room temperature before use.
Ensure your hands are clean and dry! If your hands are wet the ink will SMEAR.
For best results, apply the image to your cake 24-36 hours before serving, but at least 1 hour prior, to allow it to adhere with the frosting. You can refrigerate the cake after applying the image. Our images work well on buttercream, fondant, or dried royal icing. If the frosting has a skin or crust, lightly mist with water. For fondant or royal icing, use plain corn syrup or water where the image will go. Apply the liquid to the fondant or icing, not directly to the icing sheet. Use piping gel or edible glue if you wish to ensure tackiness.
Remove the icing image from the bag and let it sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes. It should peel easily from the plastic backing. If you have trouble, gently pull the backing sheet over a sharp edge or freeze for 10 SECONDS ONLY, then peel. Avoid contact with grease or water.
Place the image on your cake by aligning the center first, then smoothing the edges. Gently rub the image from the center outwards using the palm of your CLEAN AND DRY hand to eliminate air pockets and ensure proper adhesion.
Avoid using whipped cream or non-dairy toppings, as they can cause the image to fade and colors to run.
If the cake is frozen, thaw slightly before applying the icing sheet.
Images are easy to cut through with a sharp knife once they’ve melded into the cake frosting.
