To determine how many strips you'll need, calculate the circumference of the cake by multiplying its diameter by pi (3.14). For example, an 8-inch round cake would have a circumference of about 25 inches (8 x 3.14). Considering that the frosting will add some extra size, aim for approximately 26 inches. Using 3 strips will give you a total of 34 inches, which should be sufficient.
