*PLEASE - READ the description. Our Rattlesnake Skins ARE NOT TANNED. They are processed with a drying mixture so that they can be used for crafts, leatherwork, etc. Because Skins that are TANNED have glycerin embedded into the hide, so glues (of all kinds) have a problem sticking to tanned hides)
These Rattlesnake Skins DO NOT have a rattle attached.
We occasionally have a rattlesnake skin with the rattle attached, However, if you are wanting one of these rare beasties,
please keep an eye on our listing for Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Skins WITH RATTLE.
Great for those crafts that just need that special touch of class. These Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Skins are
processed with a simple drying mixture. So once you receive them, just gently moisten them with either a damp cloth or spray them lightly with water. The skins will then move in whatever manner that you need for your craft making.
We use this process so that it is easier for you to apply the glue when attaching the snake skin to other objects. Most people don't know, but if you process the skins with a glycerin mixture, the glues won't stick when you try to attach the snake skin to other things. The glycerin makes a permanent barrier that is almost impossible to get removed. Because of this, no matter what glue you use, it won't stay attached.
Also, sometimes we have Seconds - a snake skin that isn't quite perfect with maybe a small disformation, but nothing major. Usually it's just a small tear where the skin caught while skinning the snake. These are listed separately on the price pull down list.
As of this last batch, we have a few 3rds - a snake skin that is damaged but can still be used for crafts like wallets, etc. These are priced accordingly.
As of 9/24/2020 a 'Rattlesnake Use & Care Sheet' will be sent out with each order. It gives detailed instructions on how to handle, glue and/or attach these wonderful snake skins to basically any project you can think of, as well as hints from others who have been doing this sort of thing for years.
With these little pearls of wisdom, you'll be handling these Snake Skins like a Pro in no time!
(PLEASE NOTE: For First Time Users – PLEASE ask for a small Test Piece of Rattlesnake Skin with your Order. This will give you the opportunity to Test out a few of these ideas and see what works best for your Project.)

Please note that photos used are stock photos. They are actually from a set of pictures taken with the joke lines of 'How do Texans ...."
First one is: "How do Texans Keep Their Wives From Going Shopping" or "The Texas Red Carpet". It shows snake skins covering the sidewalk going to her car.
Second is: "How Texans Camouflage their Canoes".
Third is: "How Texans Keep Wives out of Deer Camp"
Just like the snakes that they came from, each snake skin is unique in it's own way.
Proudly harvested and tanned in the U.S.A. by the Beecroft family
People have asked how we kill these snakes. So please let me explain. The snakes are captured, then put in super cold temperatures. This makes the snakes think that its winter, so they go into a deep sleep. Once they have been asleep for quite some time, we humanely euthanized them, like you would your favorite pet.
