This is a scarce, controversial and collectible issue. In March 1969, Ebony published this issue with a 'Black Jesus' on the cover. Many Black subscribers were disturbed by the story and the cover art. It is said that some threatened to cancel subscriptions and others sent Johnson Publishing Company pictures of the traditionally depicted white Jesus.
