I developed these mittens for people with special needs who chew on their hands. The waterproof* fabric keeps their fingers dry, and the hook and loop closure gives an adjustable fit, while making it difficult to pull the mittens off. Please note that these mittens do not have a separate thumb. Mittens are sold in pairs (2 mittens). (*Please note that while the PUL fabric is waterproof, the seams are not. Heavy droolers may still manage to get their fingers wet. However, it is easy to pull the lining inside out, so it can dry quickly.)
Sizing (length x width, finished mitten):
XS - 12 x 8 cm (4.75 x 3")
S - 14 x 8.5 cm (5.5 x 3.25")
M - 16 x 9 cm (6.25 x 3.5")
L - 17 x 10 cm (6.75 x 4")
Length is measured from the cuff seam to the top of the mitten. Width is measured edge to edge in the middle of the mitten. Please note that I cannot recommend a size for your child based on their age, as children's rates of growth vary so considerably.
To determine the correct size, measure hands from wrist crease to fingertips (length), and across the hand at the knuckles, including the thumb (see photo above). Compare with the sizes above, allowing a bit extra for wiggle room. If you are unsure, or you need a size not listed above, just message me.
Mittens are fully lined with woven cotton that has been pre-washed with unscented detergent. There are no exposed seams or threads to irritate skin or get wrapped around fingers. I reinforce the top seam of the lining with an extra row of stitching. The mittens also open up wide so it's easy to get the person's hands inside.

Washing: machine wash and dry flat inside out to preserve waterproofness.
