An organically grown 'Medjool' date palm tree seedling (Phoenix dactylifera).. This date palm tree is heat- and drought-tolerant once it is established. It was one of the original date tree types brought over from the Middle East for cultivation. The fruit is very flavorful and very sweet. The dates are soft, wrinkled and dark brown in color. It takes 4 to 8 years to bear fruit. It also requires a male and a female trees in order to have fruit. So having at least 2 trees is recommended. Growth zones 8 to 11.
We ship with no or little soil and no pot when your local temperature and ours are between 28 and 95oF every day except Friday and Sunday by USPS Priority Mail. The plants will be wrapped with moist paper towels surrounded by protective layers without extra charge.
Normally we ship on the same day or the next day, so please check your local temperature for the foreseeable week right before you place an order. Please read the handling and planting guide sent via Etsy message right after shipping and before arrival.
We offer combined shipping. Additional items are shipped at a reduced shipping price. Besides USPS Priority mail shipping charge, the shipping fee includes cost in handling and shipping additives.
