The holes are 2" apart. The doorbell part that sticks out of the back is 1/2" diameter and 1/2" deep.

Each doorbell tile is handmade from stoneware clay & glazed in the color of your choice. The tile has 2 holes so you can easily attach it to your house with nails or screws. Comes with a standard lighted doorbell 2 wire button. You can request silver or gold trim for the button in the message box at checkout.
As with all handmade pottery...every piece has its own unique handmade character and may have slightly different sizes, shapes and color variations. We never use molds and make each, one at a time. We always use lead free glaze & high fire in the kiln. Each piece is signed Back Bay Pottery.
The tile is made with durable stoneware clay and high fired to 2200 °F. It is made to be outside in the elements and can withstand freezing cold or scorching hot temperatures. The color will not fade and will last many lifetimes (as long as it's not dropped).

ARE THESE DOORBELLS HARDWIRED OR WIRELESS?
These doorbells are for existing wired doorbells. Hardwired doorbells are generally installed during the construction of a home when an electrician runs wires through the walls and to a doorbell transformer. Only the tile and lighted button are provided. I don't have an option for wireless doorbells at this time.

Yes! The doorbells are made with durable stoneware clay and high fired. They are made to be outside in the elements and can withstand freezing cold or scorching hot temperatures. The color will not fade and they will last many lifetimes (as long as they are not dropped).
HOW DO I INSTALL?
RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION:
They can be installed directly on a stucco, siding, brick or concrete surface.
You can hire an electrician to install the doorbell or you can do it yourself! There are plenty of YouTube tutorials.
Pre-drill the holes then HAND SCREW the doorbell into place. Don't tighten the screws too tight. Leave a little wiggle room so there is room for expansion and contraction (when the pottery cools and heats as the weather changes).
