This year’s Junicorn Collection was inspired by unicorns in heraldic crests and coats of arms. My research also lead me to look into medieval manuscripts, codices, and bestiaries, many of which are still vibrant centuries after their creation and still shine with embellishments of real gold and silver. This of course led me down another rabbit hole of the history and chemical makeup of the pigments and other materials commonly used to create these priceless works of art. The resulting collection draws heavily on those beautifully illustrated texts with glowing, warm undertones (with the exception of our blue, which is cooler) and lots of metallic sheen thanks to the real metal powders in their formulation. Lastly, I added a unique blend of iridescent shimmer and glitter, tailored to each shade, to soften the colors and give them kinship with our first Junicorn Collection, which share that rainbow-hued, soap-bubble finish. While nothing about this collection has gone easily, it’s been a true labor of love and they have reminded me how much I love the challenge of formulating.

“Unicorn Sablé,” like all of our products, is carefully handmade in small batches. Please choose your preferred size(s) and quantity from the drop-down menu, either .50g “Mini” or 4.15g “Full Size” Container. Please keep in mind that these products are packed by weight, not volume, and some containers will appear more full than others. Rest assured, you are getting the full weight printed on the label. For reference, a “Mini” size container consists of a short-profile, 3-gram jar with black lid and sifter, packed with .50g of loose powder eye shadow. Sifters will come sealed, simply peel off the sticker before use. These jars may or may not appear full due to differences in ingredients. The “Full Size” option is a 5-gram tall profile jar with a hinged sifter that can open and close. These jars are packed with a much higher weight of loose powder eye shadow and will appear mostly full; weights vary by specific formulation. Last photo shows containers for size comparison.
