Wheel thrown handmade mug with mesmerising hues of pinks with a light lava effect cascading down the mug. This mug is produced using a local Australian clay with a beautiful gloss glaze, making this mug ever so divine to the touch.
The price is for a single handmade mug. Each mug is food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Like any handmade item hand washing is advised for longevity, although I must admit it's always the dishwasher for me.

Each creation is hand thrown on the wheel so you can expect each piece to be lovingly unique.

Each Coco Flamingo creation and process is meticulously crafted by my own two hands, ensuring a unique and heartfelt touch. Let me take you through the labor of love that goes into bringing these creations to life.
It all begins with preparing the clay through wedging and measuring to start the process of creating your mug. Your item is wheel-thrown so I move to the wheel to throw (a potters term haha) to start shaping and forming your mug. After a few days of drying, I return to the wheel for final touch-ups known as "turning" (another potters term). Handles are formed and once dried to the perfect consistency to then attached to your mug, this is when your mug really starts to take shape. Your mug is slowly dried for 2 weeks and once bone dry it's placed in the kiln for the first of two firings known as a "bisque firing". After 24 hours of cooling your mug is removed from the kiln to which each item is hand sanded, improving the final result of your mug. The glaze is applied used a variety of techniques, including dipping and intricate hand painting. Your mug is then returned to the kiln for it's final firing. After cooling for 24 hours, the kiln is opened and it's like Christmas seeing your creation. I then sand the bottom of your mug to make it even more divine and smooth to hold & last BUT certainly not least I photograph your items, create the listenings and here we are!
This entire process takes roughly 6 weeks from start to finish. So much love and care goes into your creations. It's something I truely love doing and I hope you enjoy your Coco creations just as much as I do making them for you.
