I have taken a child's clothes, cut the fabric into 4" squares and sewed them to the top of a quilt. All the squares are raw edged, and they will fray and curl, making a very friendly and usable quilt.
A fun way to deal with large graphics and small blocks....just cut them up and sew them next to each other for a very cool effect.
