We have to prune the vines periodically as they were getting too long and we don't have space for it. Once they are planted in the ground, they will take off quickly.
You can grow this easily for endless leaves (where warm or greenhouse) all year long, super fresh, to make great tasting, plant-based, organic, healthy jello without preservatives. Yummy with honey.
This amazing plant is called Grass Jelly Vine (Tiliacora Triandra or Suong Sam). I use this to make Jello, super simple, delicious, and takes less than 5 minutes to make: harvest the leaves to crush them and extract the juice to make "jello", let sit for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Dry and hot tolerant, super easy plant to grow (zone 9 above). You can harvest leaves all year long. In Houston, we had a hard freeze for 3-4 days this past winter, and the plant did not get hurt at all. The plant vine can travel 20-30 ft. or more. It's great to grow on a trellis, or grow on a pole, or grow in a pot with a tomato cage.
