These hand knit chain mail sleeves are a comfortable, light-weight, affordable alternative to steel ring chain mail for your medieval cosplay, SCA or LARP needs or Halloween costume.
The fingerless gloves are made made with thousands of complex stitches that so closely resembles steel ring chain mail it has been mistaken for the real thing at a distance. Up close, it’s obvious your chain mail sleeves are knitted yarn, and more about having fun than historical accuracy.
Like the historical pieces my knitted chain mail is based on, the faux chain mail sleeves are flexible, but much lighter and and easier to wear. They slip on easily, fitting nicely over or under your other gear. Your movements are not restricted in any way due to the built-in stretch of the ring stitches.
The faux chain mail sleeves are knit in one piece of acrylic yarn in black, pewter grey, silver grey, antique gold or bright gold, and stitched together at the sleeves' side seam. The sleeves are a standard size, but stretch to fit a wide variety of sizes.
Unlike the real deal, you won’t rattle or clink when you move (great for sneaking up on the enemy!) It’s also much easier to maintain. Just throw it in the washing machine – no worries about rust!
Please note: the sleeves are knit very loosely, and by the nature of the stitch allows a great deal of ease.

Care
Machine wash on regular cycle with a mild detergent. To prevent snags in the fabric, wash the sleeves in a lingerie bag or pillowcase. Lay flat to dry.
