How to plant.
Harden your plugs. Plant on a cloudy day or in late afternoon to reduce transplant shock. These were greenhouse grown so please acclimate before planting out.
Lisianthus like a cold start so go ahead and plant before your last frost, but only if your night time temperatures are consistently above frozen. Provide protection if your temperatures will fall below 30°. Please note they can handle a frost or a couple.
Select a location in full sun with good rich moist organic, well-drained soil.
Dig a hole for each plant, approximately 6-8 inches apart large enough to amply accommodate the root ball.
Gently loosen the root ball with your hands to encourage good root growth.
Place the top of the root ball even with the level of the surrounding soil. Fill with soil to the top of the root ball. Press soil down firmly with your hand.
Thoroughly water.
