Handmade, wheel thrown matcha bowl also known as a Chawan made with speckled clay and a rustic brown glaze. A matcha chawan is a traditional Japanese tea bowl used specifically for preparing and consuming matcha. The chawan plays a central role in the Japanese tea ceremony, also known as chanoyu or sado, as well as in the everyday preparation of matcha for casual enjoyment. A unique piece that will add a touch of elegance to your tea time. A high quality matcha whisk set is essential for making good matcha, this bowl has a spout for easy pouring and a nice flat bottom for whisking. Can also be used when you want to mix together something like a salad dressing or a sauce.

Keri Clementine is a southern Utah ceramic studio based right in our home. Every piece is handmade and has been lovingly crafted by Keri and Adam, a husband and wife team. Lots of steps going into the process of making pottery by hand: First, it is either thrown on the potter's wheel or sculpted by hand and then trimmed after a couple of days. After that, it is fired in a bisque firing, glazed and then once again fired in the kiln. This process takes about 4-5 weeks and is made with attention to detail and a love for good craftsmanship.
Because of the handmade nature of our pottery, sometimes the shapes and glazes may vary slightly from the images. All our pottery is food, dishwasher and microwave safe unless stated otherwise. Thank you for supporting our dream!
