Description:
This purchase includes digital files for creating four sizes of chainmail pattern stacking boxes using materials such as plywood, acrylic, MDF, or hardwood. The plans are suitable for four different material thicknesses: 1/8” (3.125 mm), 4 mm, 5.32 mm, and 1/4” (6.25 mm).
Box Dimensions:
Large Boxes:
Inside dimensions: 9" x 6" (23 x 15 cm)
Height: 4.9" (12.5 cm) for both high and low variations
Small Boxes:
Inside dimensions: 5.9" x 3.9" (15 x 10 cm)
Height: 6.2" (16 cm) for the high variation and 3.6" (9 cm) for the low variation
The files are organized into large and small baskets, each containing plans for all four material thicknesses. Note that only two sides are provided for each box; you will need to duplicate these to create all four sides. A customizable tag for the boxes is also included. Also a slot tester is included, which I highly recommend cutting, to test your material thickness before cutting the box.
Cutting Tips:
Measure your material before cutting, as it may not match the specified size exactly.
Assembly Instructions:
Assembly is easy. Begin by attaching the two handle sides to the bottom. Then, press the two slotted sides with holes over the slotted sides. Glue is not required but recommended for a stronger hold.
The pictured boxes are made from 4 mm poplar plywood.
