Our design: • White maple wood with boldly contrasting water, text and graphics • Pre-designed title ideas for you to start with • Huge range of sizes possible, with our custom handmade frames • Order any size listed, then if your lake needs a different height to width ratio, with your approval, we can adjust it. • Your lake map is precision laser cut and engraved with an industrial Class IV CO2 laser • The design is 2-levels, with a lower blue water level made from hand poured mirror finish pearlescent resin, for a two layer dimensional effect • Wood is high grit sanded, then oiled to bring out the beauty of the maple wood Our Guarantee: We know that it is hard to visualize how your lake will come across in this media. Due to that uncertainty, by shop policy we provide a 100% refund if you change your mind at the design approval stage, when you see the final detailed design. Natural wood product: We use very high quality eastern US maple, and an oil finish which can brings out yellow/tan tones of the grain. The maple wood is white - the whitest available wood there is. But because it is white, it reflects whatever color light that hits it. In some of our photos that light is a yellow shaded interior warm light source. In others it is higher K bulb, or daylight, and those will take on a brighter white color. It is also a natural product and can vary in the exact tone, again particularly based on the lighting. This fact is going to be true no matter who you buy a wood map from. If you want a perfectly uniform in color and sterile product, then please do not buy our hand made natural wood products; instead look for a painted/coated finished product or a canvas based map from another etsy map shop. About our handmade frames: • Our own frames are cut from NHLA prime or super prime premium 4/4 wood, the beauty of which you can see in the photos. We inspect and hand pick every board from a local family business. • We then rip to size, thickness plane, route, and sand every piece. • The frames are miter cut, then joined using PVA glue and a professional framing v-nailer to insert metal angles. To date we have only had two frames damaged in 500+ shipments, and we can just send a replacement easily enough since we make the frames. Custom Frame and Color Choices: • Neutral interiors • We think carrington looks the best if you have ANY wood or wood type colors around, as it matches the brown of the lasering. • White/Grey interiors • For completely grey/white house interiors, we recommend the weathered grey poplar frame, which makes for a very attractive frame and blends with the current farmhouse trends. When that fad fades, you can always paint the frame later. • Cabin/natural wood look • The natural frame or ambrosia maple gives a real cabin vibe. By special request, we can use birch wood for the map layer, which has a yellower more rustic tint. • Custom stain needed? No problem, just tell us your design look, and/or a brand and color. Custom Wood for Frames: We can create frames for any type of wood including exotics. Cedar, Ambrosia/wormy Maple, Cherry, Black Walnut, Rainbow poplar, Hickory, Oak, etc. Costs and time will vary. $20-$40 range, with a time addition of +1 or 2 weeks to give you an idea.
