I harvest properly-sized roots at the correct time of year from pesticide and herbicide-free spaces and then replant the crowns. We grow beyond organically on our farm! The roots are properly air dried and never exposed to the sun. We even clean the roots in such a way as to never soak them in water so that they don't lose any of their goodness. I then pack jars full of this powerful herb and macerate it in castor oil with a bit of sunflower seed oil for some batches and without sunflower seed oil for other batches (you chose). We turn the jars daily moving the oil around the roots. This is the original Poke Castor Salve!
If I'm out of the size here that you want, I ALSO have Poke Castor salve WITH sunflower seed oil in my shop as ANOTHER listing. What is the difference? A tiny bit of sunflower seed oil makes this salve a little "lighter" and not as heavy as the batches with JUST castor oil. Sunflower seed oil, like Castor oil, will not clog pores. So if you are going to use this salve for your face, the batch with a little sunflower seed oil may be more a bit more lovely in a tactile way. For people allergic to sunflower seed oil, this salve is a good option. I take great care to not cross contaminate and don't make the different batches on the same day or with the same equipment.
Instead of using olive oil like most salves, we use castor oil which will not clog pores and is also powerful in it's own right. Only ingredients that are going to help your issues are included and we don't use anything extra like butters or E.O.'s.
No matter who you buy your poke root salve from, manage your expectations. Yes in some cases issues will be resolved very quickly. In other cases it can take 4-6 weeks to see any change and then more weeks or months longer for complete resolution. In my personal case, one issue was days and another took 2 years. I can't be more specific without risking my listing be shut down, but do at least give it a 6 week try.

Castor oil not only gives this salve a unique silky smooth feel, but it’s known for its rich fatty acids, and things I can't list here or I'll get deleted. This salve is especially powerful when paired with heat.
You can warm the target area with a wet washcloth and/or place some salve in a small bowl that is sitting in a container of warm water before applying to the skin for additional benefits. OR you can apply the salve, lay a flannel cloth over the area and apply a hot water bottle (not a heating pad).
