Mount to install a 2-5/8" tachometer (or other gauge) to a factory Chevrolet Squarebody Steering column.
Designed during my father and I's recent 6-year restoration of a 1987 Chevrolet V20 Scottsdale. We wanted to mount a Bosch 2-5/8" tachometer to the column:
1. without destroying the original column,
2. without blocking the turn signal/speedometer/gear indicator,
3. without looking out-of-place,
4. located as close to the gauge cluster as possible (i.e. not far up the column),
5. oriented in the best viewing angle to the driver.
This 3D printed mount was designed to be minimal in size and look near-factory to the original column. Extremely simple installation using zip ties, requiring no permanent modification to the steering column. Mounted gauge/tachometer will not block driver's view of turn signal lamp or other dash components.
Due to where the mount is installed on the column, the mounted gauge will rotate clockwise with the column when putting the truck into drive. The proper location for the mount when the truck is in park will be in the 9-o'clock position, which places it in the 11-o'clock position when in drive.
Made with high-quality ASA thermoplastic with carbon-fiber reinforcement, capable of withstanding both high temperatures and UV exposure in the cab on hot summer days.
