The Gruen Watch Co. (est. 1894-1958) made this vintage 15 jewel pocket watch movement. The watch movement seems to be running very smoothly, but no service history. The movement is signed, "Gruen Watch Co., Veri-Thin, Switzerland" with serial number "4-128024". The name "Veri-thin" says it all. The pocket watch is very slim with a thin profile.
The beige dial has raised gold numbers and golden hands with black seconds and markings. The crystal appears to be plastic and has yellowed with some surface wear. A new glass crystal would look sharp on this piece.
The inside of the case is marked, "Gruen Veri-thin, cased & timed in U.S.A. by Gruen Watch Co., Wadsworth 10k gold filled" with case no. "G410386". The edge of the case is also marked, "10k gold filled". The case is in good vintage to antique condition with loss of gold finish to its back, slight dimples and scratches.
Overall this piece is in very good vintage condition for its age. It is currently running, but there is no service history or guarantee of future performance. Please see photos for condition. This item is sold as is.
