The Aztlan earrings pay homage to the Aztlan Theatre on Santa Fe in Denver, and the owners, Tim and Aurora. The Aztlan Theatre is a staple on Santa Fe Ave, and has been a hub for Chicano culture in Denver since 1927 when it opened. Tim and Aurora have fostered creative growth and connection in the area for years by supporting new artists, musicians, and the like. The earrings are my own way of honoring their work and contributions to my own creative growth and the Denver community at large.
These earrings draw inspiration from the concept of negative space, serving as a poignant reminder of the transformative power of silence.
