These Oval Cable chains are made in my studio from solid sterling silver (chain and all components) not plated or filled. The links are diamond cut and all are soldered closed. I lightly oxidize and then polish each chain leaving a shiny finish with darker areas in the recesses. Zoom in on the pictures and notice that the thickest (5.9mm) has a flat edge while the 3mm and 4.2mm have beveled edges.
All three thicknesses could be worn by women or men and I would think the 3mm would be a thin chain for most men and the 5.9mm a chunky chain for most women.
