These "soft shoe" boots are made of quilted cotton fabric. They are "Slip on" like regular western boots, with a little more give, being made out of fabric. There are no zipper or Velcro closures. The 12 and 18 month sizes come with canvased bottoms and an elastic strap on the inside that fits around the ankles for the walkers.

For the newborn and 3 month sizes, I sometimes recommend purchasing the single layer fringe pair because of the size of boots being so small they can sometimes drown in all that fringe. If that is the look you are going for, 2 layers is for you. Single layer fringe pairs can be found here:

~For questions regarding sizing:

If tot is between sizes and unsure of which to go with, I always recommend the bigger of the two sizes. It's by far easier to add thick socks for a while (plus they'll wear them for longer) than to squeeze them on for a shorter period of time.
If you have a tot in 6-9 month sizing but is already walking you can purchase the 12 months size in order to recieve the elastic strap and the canvased bottoms, then please state that you need them in a size 3 in the note to seller when you purchase so there is no mix up.
~For questions regarding processing and shipping times:
Orders typically ship in 1 week, however, can take the full turn around time of 3 weeks. The time frame depends on season and the number of orders in line ahead of yours. I make every order in the order of which I receive them. Business days are Monday through Friday. Meaning, if you order on a Friday, your item can ship out as soon as the next day (not typical), and as far out as 3 Friday's later. If you need to rush your order, take a look at my "Rush Order Options" section for upgrades. You can upgrade shipping methods and processing times.
First class shipping (default shipping) averages 3-5 business day delivery.
Priority shipping averages 2-3 day delivery.
Express or "Overnight" shipping averages next day delivery, depending on the time of day your order is placed.
If you are ordering around the holidays, please add additional waiting time to your delivery time, as the post offices tend to get congested. Especially around Christmas, about the 15th through the 24th, Items can take up to 3 times their normal delivery time. If you have chosen Express shipping and the item does not arrive within the next day (again, depending on time of day you ordered), During Christmas only, you can take your package into the post office and receive a refund on the shipping cost.
