No permanent modification required and functionality of the AC is not altered.
Simply remove the AC vent, vertical louvers along with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th horizontal vent louvers, insert the Gauge Mount and reassemble. No special tools needed or drilling, although it does help to have a non marring trim removal tool but not required.
The insert is milled out of 1/4” ABS to ensure a strong and solid mounting location.
