This is a 3D printed part I designed and developed. It is printed from flexible TPU plastic and can bend or open up to mount on many different size cylindrical poles you'd find on many boats, golf carts, etc. (FLAG NOT INCLUDED) Any flag somewhere close to 12x18 inches in size will work perfectly with this holder.
The clips that attach the flag to the holder are 3D printed and are my own design as well.
The order will come with 1 main flag holder in the color of your choice, either black or white, set of clips, and two Velcro straps for securing the holder to its mount.
It is very important to only flex the holder in the manner in which it is meant to be flexed, this would be the natural curve to the part, otherwise you will see the layers split. It is a very strong part when used correctly but folding and bending it a way it's not meant to be will cause premature failure. It's really just the nature in which 3D prints are made by printing layers on top of layers so just keep that in mind.
I will provide some basic instructions for securing the holder to mounts but it's pretty straight forward. They are easy to quicky throw up before leaving the dock and taking down when you return. They are also fine to leave up if you don't have a need to remove them as well. You can leave the flag on it and roll them up real neatly and toss in your bag etc. Clips make it easy to change out the flags for different flags depending on mood season, etc. (Note the clips attached to the holder are glued by me before shipping as they should not need to be removed. Remove flags from the holder via the clips that attach to the flag directly.)
I came up with the idea when I was boating as a member of a local boat club. You see many people out flying flags and wanted to do the same. Problem being I need to take my stuff with me when I am done using the boat for the day, so I needed something small, quick, and portable that would attach to many different types of boats. I couldn't find anything that fit what I was trying to do so I designed the part myself and printed some prototypes. I found I could print one that attached to a rod holder on a center console well but wouldn't attached to the poles on a Bimini for a dual console or pontoon and vice versa. Eventually the flexible material solved my problem. The next issue was the rusting metal flag clips just don't look great after prolonged exposure to salty air and spray. The clips are my own design and seem to do the job and won't rust ever. They've held up for me.
