Why only these sizes?
Each of my prints are artworks that were originally created in a certain canvas size. I started out mostly working in an 8x10 canvas early on and was able to upgrade that size to an 11x14 without affecting the integrity of the artwork. I later began working with larger canvases (16x20 and 16x24). This allowed me to crop and edit the artwork down into multiple sizes without affecting the quality of the print. However, this also meant that when creating the artwork, I had to intentionally create each piece with cropping and other sizes in mind. Therefore, I only offered cropped sizes that would not take away from the subject of the artwork, but I was still able to offer a larger variety of sizes.
For this print in particular, its original canvas is 16x24.
Why matte paper and not glossy?
For my artwork, I prefer using matte paper as it offers no shine and allows the artwork to be displayed without any light disruption. In my full-time work outside of my Etsy shop, I work as a historian in research and exhibit design at a museum. We regularly use matte paper for our exhibitions and that is why it is my personal preference.
Why matte paper and not fine art paper?
Unlike matte paper which is smooth and flat, fine art paper is thicker and textured. Though it is of a higher quality, it does come at double the price point. This is something that is not as affordable to most.
Though this quality of paper is often found in gallery displays, museums also use matte paper for many displays and exhibitions. Matte paper remains affordable while also maintaining good quality and colour. It remains a popular choice, particularly for large exhibitions that require a high volume of printing. Prints of artwork and photographs still look beautiful while remaining affordable, allowing them to be an accessible option for print and purchase.
What does giclée mean?
Giclée refers to the method in which the ink is applied to paper. Giclée prints are produced by large format printers to create a high-quality print in vivid colours.
In my FAQs, I mention that depending on how you print your digital prints, the colours may differ slightly. Home printers do not have the same capabilities as large format printers which can result in colours being a bit more dull. With a large format printer, the colours are able to be much more accurate to the original piece.
Who produces your prints?
Though I do work with a large format printer regularly at work, I do not have one of my own and therefore do not have the capability to produce prints (though I would love to one day)! I work with a company called Jondo that has a background and focus in fine art printing and green printing practices. This means that their production and shipping is done with environmental impact in mind. They use eco-friendly inks, paper, and packaging in order to remain sustainable and reduce environmental waste.

Prints are produced in 2-4 days at the printing facility.

Returns and exchanges:
The printing facility does not offer returns or exchanges, however if any issues arise with your print whether that be a quality issue or a shipping issue, please reach out to me! A refund or reprint can be offered.
