TIPS FOR APPLYING PATCHES
The best results for applying patches are to sew them on, but if you wish to iron them on, here are the best practices.
• Turn up your iron to the highest heat setting but make sure the steam setting is switched off.
• Place a slightly damp cloth (or thin towel, handkerchief etc) between the patch and the iron. Press the iron downward with as much pressure as you can and hold it in place for 30-40 seconds. Be careful not to move the iron around since this can inadvertently shift the position of the patch.
• Lift the cloth and check to see if the patch is firmly affixed by rubbing the edge of the patch trying to lift it. If the patch isn’t firmly fixed, place the cloth over it again and apply the iron for another 10 seconds. Repeat until the patch is firmly attached.
• Once the patch is affixed to the fabric, turn the item of clothing inside out and lay it flat on your ironing board. Position the pressing cloth over the reverse side of the patch and repeat step two. Once the patch is securely attached to the garment, allow it to cool completely before wearing.

PATCH MAINTENANCE
• Any items of clothes with ironed-on patches should be washed in water no hotter than 30 degrees, and always wash the clothes inside out so that the adhesive on the patch lasts as long as possible.
