This high polished Vermeil style 24 karat gold cross pendant has an elegant open work design with a small floral accent centered on the cross. The dainty cross pendant can be matched with your choice of 14 karat gold filled chain.
What is Vermeil Style?
Gold vermeil jewelry refers to gold plated over 925 sterling silver. To be considered Vermeil the gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick.
Gold plated jewelry has a thin gold layer of at least 0.5 microns over an inexpensive base metal such as copper or brass.
Like gold vermeil jewelry, vermeil style jewelry is layered over 925 sterling silver. Vermeil style also has twice the thickness of gold layer (1.0 micron) than gold plated jewelry.
