This lot contains 25 rare vintage "Ocean Blue" Clearies - toy glass marbles, commonly used for games, crafts or decorations. The photo shown is an example of the marbles being sold within this lot.
Glass marbles such as these have been made throughout the world since the early 1900's. Nearly every glass marble manufacturer made Clearies-Puries marbles as they were relatively easy to make, being just one color. The majority of these marbles were made by various marble manufacturers in America between 1910 and 1990. Thus, many of these being offered are true antiques. However, being that they are just one color without any other markings, it is often nearly impossible to discern their true age or original manufacturer.
In fact, this style of marble is still being made today in other parts of the world. As these marbles come from my personal collection which I have collected from various marble collectors over the years, this lot will have a mix of old and new marbles and some slight variation in color. I will try to match color and size as best I can in the lots being sold.
Most Clearies marbles are smaller than most marbles, at around 9/16" in diameter, although this may vary somewhat, and these seem a bit smaller than most. Some of the older used marbles have some minor wear. I have removed any with noticeable damage from the mix and have washed these thoroughly.
