Hi everyone, I have some pinguicula species and hybrids for sale, pictured are the exact plants for sale. I will ship without a pot or planting medium. I will ship USPS priority unless otherwise requested. General care for tropical pinguicula: Water & Humidity: Only use mineral free water such as distilled, reverse osmosis, or rainwater. In summer, I place the pots in a tray of approx. 1” standing water and allow it to dry out before refilling. During winter, I keep their soil slightly moist but allow their pots to dry out, they can handle drier media with less light and lower temperatures. It is not recommended to wet the center of the pings when watering, stagnant water in their rosette may cause rot. Constant airflow is beneficial to the health of the plants. Watering frequency will depend on growing conditions such as soil mix, light, humidity, and temperature. Potting medium: Most tropical pinguicula prefer a mineral-airy mix that allows for rapid evaporation. My own standard mix consists of equal parts pumice, perlite, sand, vermiculite, and sometimes peat for the pings preferring more moisture. Light: Butterworts grow well with bright indirect light, morning or evening sunlight is best (this will bring out their brightest colors), please be aware that direct afternoon sunlight may scorch the leaves. Growlights; During winter, they do well with 8-12 hours of lights. In summer you can increase it to 12-16 hours of light a day. A combination of sun light with growlight supplement is also ok. Temperature & Succulent growth phase: They like moderate temperatures between 50°F to 90°F but may handle brief temperatures down to 40°F if kept dry, and up to 100°F with plenty of moisture. They have a winter growth phase; the shorter photoperiod, cooler temps, and drier media will trigger most tropical pings to grow non-carnivorous small succulent leaves. Prevent overwatering during this phase as they can be susceptible to rot. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thanks for checking my listing. Feel free to ask me questions before or after a plant purchase.
