This visual pattern will take you through all the steps in detail to enable you to make this large tatted lace doily. When finished in Size 20 cotton thread, doily ‘Kay’ is 70cm (28'') across. It consist of 23 rows and will require 4 separate blockings as well as the final one (instructions provided).
Most rounds you will be making using shuttle and ball and only 2 rows are easier done with 2 shuttles. There are 3 diagrams that will take you through the details of the work together with brief text descriptions and pictures showing the result after each row.
The pattern is visual and suitable for anyone who can tat rings and chains and make ordinary lock joins. This is pattern written for shuttles, but needle tatters can make this pattern successfully too if they can work following the diagram and general stitch count information.
