As of 2016, KitchenAid stopped putting the springs on the beater shaft of their consumer mixers to save costs. This spring served the purpose of securely locking the mixing attachments onto the shaft, giving that extra piece of mind that the attachments wouldn't come detached. The spring also serves to extend the life of the shaft and mixer attachments by reducing wear between them during use.
As a mechanical engineer, I knew I could reverse engineer the parts needed to bring back this missing feature. Sourcing the perfect parts was tricky but the installation was a breeze so I figured I'd simplify this process for others and start selling the parts as an all-in-one kit that takes all the measurement, testing, and sourcing out of the equation.

This kit will fit all KitchenAid Tilt-head & Bowl-lift mixers from 3.5 Quarts to 7 Quarts! Including Classic, Artisan, Pro-Line If it doesn't fit your mixer for whatever reason, please reach out and I will make it right!
NOTE: This kit will not fit 2023 models of KitchenAid mixers. They changed their design to make it so the beater shaft is no longer removable. Please see my EASY INSTALL Kit that will work for 2023 models and newer.
These parts are made from a high quality 304 stainless steel so they won't corrode or rust.
Kit contains:
1X 304 Stainless Steel Washer
1X 304 Stainless Steel Spring
2X 304 Stainless Steel Snap Ring
Tools for Easiest Installation:
Hammer
Punch (1/8" or smaller) but almost anything will work (screwdriver, wooden dowel, etc.)
Towel to protect mixer during install
Tools for Full Installation & Regrease:
Hammer
Punch (same as above)
Snap Ring Pliers
White Lithium Grease (available at most hardware stores)
Towel to protect mixer
Q-Tips & Paper towels to clean up old grease
