It originated from cowboys having to watch herds at night, they would wrap a hand in the Nightlatch to keep from falling off if they fell asleep. These days, we use Nightlatches as a handhold in case of a sketchy or green horse. Very "handy" in a tight spot! How To Order: 1) Select your Primary Color (this is the STIFF Rope). 2) Select your Size 3) Add your Paracord color in the Personalization Box. I can only do ONE (1) color PER Nightlatch. -- So NO "Blue and Black", no "Thaw Rattler", "Lime green and hot pink and blue", etc. in the Personalization Box. Otherwise, I WILL be messaging/emailing you for changes...which I will NOT be happy about I'm having to do this for at least half the orders placed! Please follow directions, people!! -- Sizing: Ideal size depends on personal preference and saddle swell type/size. To measure for the Size, measure the circumference of the Swell, then add 4 or 5 inches. For example, my Nightlatch on my Wade/Slick Fork is 18” long, but a Barrel saddle may be smaller. So Please Measure For The Best Fit! This style of Nightlatch is made with STIFF ¼” Rope so it holds its shape. Then it has about 6" of Paracord braiding (Fishtail braid) for a comfortable grip. Made with Premium USA-Made ¼” Yacht Rope with an approximately 2,000 lbs. tensile strength and 550 Paracord. I can also make matching Training Halters!
