This beautiful medal is an authentic French love charm token from A.Augis, the famous jeweler from Lyon.
This gorgeous pendant is a collectors piece known as "Medaille d´amour". It´s based on a love poem written by Rosemond Gerard to her husband ( the author of Cyrano de Bergerac) in 1899. One of the verses reads:
"Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage,
Aujourd'huis plus qu'hier et bien moins que demain."
The jeweler took the sentence "more than yesterday, but less than tomorrow" and created this love tokens that have become famous over the years. This is a beautiful and subtle example made in all 18 carat gold, with no over ornament but with presence.
