This Byzantine Cross pendant originated from the internationally famous antiquities company Aladdin House, Ltd. Their gallery was located on Madison Avenue in New York City. They supplied collectors and museums worldwide with authentic ancient art.
In 1960s they decided to take a number of their pieces and replicate them in sterling silver and 14k & 18K gold. All of these fine jewelry pieces were crafted in American jewelry workshops. They were sold retail and by museum shops, boutiques and jewelry stores.
When the King Tut exhibit came to America the Aladdin House Jewelry Collection was one of the most famous and sought after. It held great interest especially both as attractive and historic but also as a collector's memento of this historic and cultural archaeological event.
