Grow your very own cacao pods with these Theobroma cacao trees that can easily be maintained as an indoor, indoor-outdoor or warm weather outdoor small tree or bush with regular pruning. The best part is that cacao pods grow from the trunks and woody branches older than 2 years and not from new growth so pruning does not impact fruit production. Cacao are understory plants meaning they prefer that partly shady spot few other plants want, so long as there is some light exposure.
By popular request we have added young trees that are several months old. In addition are trees 1-3 years old and will be pruned, if necessary, to fit. There are two shipping size options for the larger trees, 28"-30" inch USPS Priority modified small tube for smaller, younger trees, and, a 55"-60" modified large Priority Shipping tube.
Please see the photo for size reference and that each tube incurs its own extra length shipping charge, which is included, but still adds to the cost.

If plants are being shipped through regions, or to regions, experiencing temperatures below 45 degrees F then a separate purchase of a 72, 96 or 120 hour heat pack is required to receive the benefit of the shop refund/exchange policy. We may attempt to communicate, via Etsy platform email, to confirm that decision, but our first priority is to get the order to the client as quickly as possible. We suggest adding 2 heat packs, either 96 or 120 hour, depending on distance, per order.

We do allow upgrades to USPS Express, with the additional charges to be covered by the client.
UPS rates shipping from the island have not been historically competitive, so we do not consider them an option. If there is a strong preference then we will get a shipping quote on a case-by-case basis, so please understand adding additional steps may impact processing times.
