***Description***
Produced sometime in the 1940s or early 1950s, this pair of huge chalkware Lamps feature a trio of Puti (also known as cherubs) clasping hands. Between the feet of two cherub lays a lute, a traditional symbol of love and/or lust. An orb, a symbol of the sovereign power of the Christian world, lays between the feet of another pair. Clasped in the hands of the final pairing are two laurel wreaths representing triumph, victory and glory. Shades and bulbs are not included. Harps and finials are included.
***Condition***
These lamps are in good vintage condition.
There are a few small chips in the lamp here and there, but this is typical of plasterware. The wear is commensurate with other plasterware of its age, size and use. Please see the photos for more information. The wiring is original and appears to be in good condition, but all vintage electrical items should be inspected by an expert before use.
