Using fleece from our small alpaca farm, this yarn was machine processed at a local fiber mill and was washed before spinning and after. Our girls like to roll out in the pasture, though, so there may be a little bit of hay still in the mix. That's how you know it's authentic! It can be gently pulled out with tweezers.
Each skein is 2-ply, 250 yds.
Please note that colors may vary based on monitor settings.
About Our Alpaca Farm
Sol Homestead a small alpaca farm with a herd of five. Our girls spend their days eating and hanging out in the pasture. They get good quality hay and the occasional treat from the garden, along with what they browse from the pasture. They are sheared using gentle techniques and generally get a lot of love. We also raise chickens, bees, pumpkins, and a vegetable garden.
About the Alpacas
Miss Firecracker is shy and reserved, with a little bit of an attitude. She is very affectionate and protective of her daughter, Luna. She usually saves the attitude for her herdmate, Moira. Miss Firecracker was 6 years old when she grew this fleece. Her fiber is very soft and is dark brown with a very subtle auburn hue to it.
Theodora (with the white face) is the most social alpaca in our herd. She enjoys neck rubs and supervising our chores. She really took Clementine, the youngest in our herd, under her wing and they are usually together. Theo is Miss Firecracker's half-sister. Her fleece is very soft with beautiful crimp, making it great for spinning. She was four years old when this fleece was sheared.
Clementine (with the big, toothy grin) is the youngest of our herd. She is curious and shy. When she isn't with the other girls, it usually means that she's watching the chickens in their coop. Her BFF is Theodora. Clementine was two years old when this fleece was sheared. She is very very soft.
