Sizing/Measuring your dog’s neck:
When measuring your dog’s neck please do so where they will be wearing the prong collar and ensure your measuring tape or string is SNUG. We recommend high up on the neck behind the ears, but may also be worked mid-neck. Collars will be able to gain 1.5" from the ordered size. For example, a 14" collar will fit a neck size for 14-15.5." Please MEASURE YOUR DOG AT LEAST TWICE so we can get the correct size. This collar is 1.25" wide.
If you are hesitating which size to select please ask. If you are ordering for a dog that isn't done growing (i.e. 6-month-old puppy) or a dog that will be losing weight you might like to have a different amount of adjustment room than the standard collar. There's no extra charge for this so let us know so we can accommodate accordingly. Proceed to select your size and pattern.

Train your dog responsibly with a Novel Covered Prong Collar. Our collars are unique as the prongs are easily removed one at a time (if wanted of course) to go with the pace of your dog's training. This compares to the typical act of switching from a whole prong collar directly to a martingale/flat collar and having the possibility of your dog being "tool wise" (only behaving when a certain tool is used). Each prong can be taken out one by one without disturbing the function of the rest of the prongs. Thus, making it easy to wean a dog from a prong collar to a martingale/flat collar.
Novel's Prong Collar Covers are made to fit 2.25mm - 2.3mm prongs. Strength and durability are important when making our products which is why we use the following: Heavy duty YKK side release buckle, heavy duty nylon (UV, rot, mildew and moisture resistant), nickel plated chain, and leather.
It’s very important to us that you fully understand how to properly use a prong collar. Please refer to an experienced trainer to learn how. If you are looking for a color that isn't currently advertised please ask. The 2.25mm size produces more action therefore when fitted correctly should take less tension/correction for the dog to respond, often, no matter the size of your dog.
