This has been one of my favorite summer dresses for years and although has gotten a bit tight I have held on to thinking maybe one day... Well it's time to face reality as there isn't going to be one day. I will be glad to not gain any more weight let alone lose any; the joys of ageing. Anyway, this is so beautiful and a nice size that I know someone else will want to show off. It's the usual Victorian white with lace neckline and hem; I threaded a new red ribbon around neck; used to change up the colors to match jewelry and shoes. As you can see in pix there is some embroidery on front bodice area. Tailoring is quite nice, particularly the seaming down front which really tends to accentuate the girls. Buttons down the back and there is like a bit of pleating below the last button which gives you that nice full drape in back. There's a crocheted band above the gathered skirting at bottom which is scalloped and edged in lace. Just a spectacular summer dress! Nice for an informal vintage summer wedding; can just see with a fancy piano shawl. In very good condition for something almost 100 years old! And a wearable size.
