1930s art deco medium length sautoir necklace made from seed beads and papier mache balls.
I have seen a few of these gorgeous seed bead art deco necklaces, but never one in this shorter length - it is quite delightful! I can't be certain of the date, but the length, the detailing and the design all shout art deco flapper, and I don't see any evidence to dissuade me from that. In excellent condition and constructed from glass seed beads, with the balls at the ends made of a beaded covering to what look to be lightweight wooden or papier mache forms. I cannot find any flaws in this piece; it looks like it was packed away and never used. I will do more research on this stunning piece and update the listing if I find out more.
This medium length necklace does not have a fastener and is about 28" long
