We used the original strap that came with our cooler for a “bottom strap” and used the attached carabiners to secure it together. Feed the loops created from folding the bottom original strap in half, through the plastic slots on the sides. Then you can loop the S Carabiner through the loop and everything stays together. We are aware the S carabiners do not fit through the plastic piece. If you hook it there & then carry it with a lot of weight, that plastic will break making your cooler useless. **NEW SILVER & BLACK HOOKS will clip onto the small rectangle plastic on the side of the Engel coolers. We, however, recommend a bottom strap as to not risk damaging your cooler.
