Manufactured in 1973, this is a discontinued model (they are still produced today, but not in this fabric)
After studying Fine Arts, Giancarlo Piretti began working as a designer at Anonima Castelli (a company founded in 1877 by Ettore Castelli). He was quite successful, winning the prestigious Compasso d'Oro twice, and his famous Plia chair is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, among other museums.
