REQUIRED FABRIC AND NOTIONS:
EITHER
• Straight cut skirt: 2.5m (2 3/4 Yards) of 150cm (60”) wide fabric
OR
• Bias cut skirt: 3m (3 1/4 Yards) of 150cm (60”) wide fabric
• ½ meter (medium rigidity) fusible interfacing
• 8” invisible zip
FABRIC SUGGESTIONS:
This skirt will look best in light to mid-weight fabrics such as cotton, linen, crepe twill, poly, etc. However, you can always get creative and try it out with a different fabric! The skirt pictured in the step-by-step instructions is made with a cord fabric and the skirt pictured in the listing photos is made with a brushed cotton.
To make your skirt more sustainable, why not use a second-hand duvet cover or pillowcases!
PRINTING & PATTERN ASSSEMBLY
Print pattern out at 100% scale on your home printer and do not select ‘scale to fit’ as this will skew the pattern sizing. Ensure that your scale is correct by first printing the page with the test square and check it is the intended size using a ruler. Once you’re sure your scale is correct, print out the pattern sheets and line them up on a large flat surface with row A1-8 at the top, followed by B1-8. Attach the sheets using tape, lining up cutting lines and using the quarter circles at the edge of each sheet to form full circles. Overlapping of sheets may be required.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This pattern has been designed to be low waisted, sitting lower on the waist for a slouchier relaxed look. Therefore, when choosing your cutting size please measure around the top of your hips where you would like to the skirt to sit as opposed to the smallest part of your waist.
It is useful to first create a prototype using scrap fabric to allow for any necessary changes to the pattern measurements.
